Commercial Vehicle and Van Servicing at Shaw’s — Fleet and Trade Vehicles Welcome at Both Branches
From routine servicing to Class 7 MOT testing, Shaw’s keeps commercial vehicles and vans on the road — properly maintained, clearly explained, at both branches.
Shaw's services commercial vehicles, vans and light goods vehicles at both our Kinmel Bay and Rhyl branches. Whether it is a routine service for a sole trader's van or a fleet account across multiple vehicles, we treat working vehicles the same way we treat every vehicle — the job gets done properly.
What we service
We carry out servicing, mechanical repairs and diagnostics on light commercial vehicles including:
- Vans and panel vans up to 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight
- Pick-up trucks and crew cabs
- Minibuses and larger people carriers
- Trade and utility vehicles
The diagnostic equipment at Shaw's covers commercial vehicles as well as passenger cars. Our PicoScope, Autel scan tools and live data access work across a wide range of makes and models, including Ford Transit, Vauxhall Vivaro, Mercedes Sprinter, Volkswagen Transporter and Fiat Ducato variants.
Class 7 MOT testing
Both our Kinmel Bay and Rhyl branches are authorised to carry out Class 7 MOT tests — covering light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight. We also carry out pre-MOT inspections for commercial vehicles, which allows us to identify likely failures before the test date and address them in advance.
A commercial vehicle off the road for a failed MOT is a van not earning. A pre-MOT inspection reduces that risk by finding the obvious failures before the test day rather than on it.
Fleet and trade accounts

We regularly work with businesses operating fleets of vans and commercial vehicles, including national operators maintaining vehicles in North Wales. For fleet accounts, we can stagger servicing dates to minimise vehicle downtime and maintain consistent service records across all vehicles on the fleet.
If your vehicles are on a lease agreement or require servicing to a specific manufacturer schedule, we work to that specification and provide the documentation needed to keep your records current.
Downtime costs money — we work to minimise it
We aim to turn commercial vehicle work around as quickly as the job allows. If a job requires an overnight stay or additional parts, we will tell you at the point of booking rather than calling midway through the day. We do not book work in without being clear about what the job involves and when the vehicle will be ready.
For straightforward servicing and MOT testing, most commercial vehicles are in and out the same day.
