Why North Wales Fleets Choose Shaw’s — Two Branches, One Standard of Work

Fleet vehicles need fast turnaround, accurate diagnosis and a workshop that understands commercial vehicle requirements. Here is how Shaw’s Kinmel Bay and Rhyl branches serve local fleet operators.

For a fleet operator, a van or commercial vehicle off the road is a cost that compounds. Every day it is not working is a day it is not earning. The decision about which garage does the maintenance and repair work is not just about price — it is about turnaround time, quality of work, and whether the garage understands commercial vehicle requirements.

Two Openreach fleet vehicles at Shaw’s. Having both Kinmel Bay and Rhyl branches means fleet operators across the Conwy and Denbighshire area have a nearby workshop whichever side of the estuary their vehicles are operating from.

Shaw’s operates two branches in North Wales: our original site at Kinmel Bay (Conwy) and our second workshop at Foryd Road in Rhyl (Denbighshire). Both branches carry out Class 7 MOT testing (the category that covers vehicles up to 3,500 kg, including the majority of panel vans and light commercial vehicles), full servicing to manufacturer schedules, and general mechanical repair work.

What commercial fleet work at Shaw’s includes

  • Class 7 MOT testing at both branches, including Class 4 where vehicles also fall into that category
  • Scheduled servicing to manufacturer intervals, with the correct fluids and filter specifications for the specific vehicle
  • Tyre fitting and balancing including high-load commercial tyre specifications
  • Brake servicing including brake fluid changes and caliper work on high-mileage commercial vehicles where wear rates are significantly faster than private car use
  • Electrical and diagnostic work for fleet vehicles with recurring fault codes or intermittent electrical faults, carried out at our Rhyl branch
  • Pre-purchase and pre-hire inspection for fleet operators acquiring vehicles

Turnaround and communication

Fleet work is scheduled to minimise time off the road. Where a repair is likely to require more than one day, we communicate at the booking stage rather than after the vehicle arrives. We do not begin additional work beyond what was agreed without calling first. The vehicle returns with a clear record of what was done, what was found, and what should be noted for the next service interval.

Fleet and trade enquiries

If you operate fleet vehicles in the Kinmel Bay, Rhyl, Abergele or surrounding areas and want to discuss a service arrangement, contact us directly. We work with sole traders, small businesses and larger fleet operators and adjust scheduling to suit operational requirements.
