Shaw's is part of the DPF Doctor network, so a blocked diesel particulate filter is diagnosed before it is cleaned. The assessment finds the reason the filter stopped clearing itself — a sensor, a mechanical or auto-electrical fault, or a life of short journeys — and dealing with that is what stops the light coming straight back on.

We also drain, flush and refill engine cooling systems. Coolant that has been in the car too long loses the inhibitors holding corrosion away from the pump, the thermostat and the heater matrix, which is what turns a cheap service item into an expensive repair.
