DPF Doctor Assessment

DPF Doctor Assessment

Issues, replacement, testing

Overview

The diesel particulate filter (DPF) traps soot from the exhaust so it does not reach the atmosphere. Over time those deposits build up, and if they are not burned off or removed they harden and start to affect how the car drives. You may notice higher fuel use, less power than before, a DPF warning light on the dash, or stop-start no longer working.

Many garages will simply clean the filter, which can give a temporary fix but does not get to the root of the problem. As part of the DPF Doctor network, Shaw's performs a proper assessment first: our technicians run specific diagnostics to trace what caused the blockage — it may be a mechanical fault, an auto-electrical one or something else — and fix that before the filter is cleaned, so you are not back with the same problem a few weeks later.

Book the assessment at either branch, Kinmel Bay or Rhyl, and we will tell you exactly what we find before any further work is done.
